We've enjoyed our finds so much that we have been thinking about placing our own geocache for some time. We thought we'd start with a micro cache on one of my regular walks to see how easy it is.
Our microcache was just big enough to put in a log, pencil and a micro trackable to celebrate our first hide:
First to Find Award - GOAL: to be placed in as many new cache's as possible |
So off we went to one of my favourite haunts Westwood Woodland. I love it here because I often get to chase squirrels and have even seen deer and fox here. Plus in the summer you can dip your paws in the stream or the pond when it's too hot. It's particularly pretty when all the bluebells are out late spring.
We didn't want our hide to be too easy nor too hard so we picked a good spot not far off one of the smaller paths.
We called it Doing the Twist because of its hide spot, read our description on the geocaching website here:

After we'd hidden our cache we took a detour on our usual route to start a multi-cache. I say start because we got the first clue and will continue to the next location on another weekend soon. It did mean we got to have a good nose round one of our local treasures that we'd not visited before; Netley Abbey:
