Grandpa finds his first cache

So we've made it up to Granny and Granpa's in the Forest of Dean! I was very excited and even cried a little when we got here as there are lots of nice walks!

On the way up we stopped off to do some geocaches and some munzee's. We stopped first north of Winchester and did the Crawly Crawl (apparently @Milliethedog 's uncle lives near by so we did a quick paw wave in all directions just in case!)

The geocaches were all a little bit different and so a little tricky to find (they were like actual logs for containers and things!). But what we thought was really clever was there were clues to pick up on the way round to help get the bonus cache:

You had to use the clues on the combination lock to get in the final bonus cache!

Then it was onwards in the car which was a bit boring:

So anyway when we got here o soon found the River Wye and went to refresh myself after the long drive:

Then this morning I decided to take grandpa out on his first circular geocache walk! He has been to do multicache with us before but I thought he'd enjoy a 10 cache loop (who wouldn't?)

It was meant to be 3 miles but actually ended up being 4.5 miles (whoops sorry grandpa)! It was mostly through lovely woodlands:

Lots of ferns!

At one point I pushed him over into a bramble bush which I thought was quite funny be he didn't seem to think so! Here is grandpa sitting in the brambles:

Dad nearly pooped his pants at one point because he thought he saw a snake (or frog? Which wouldn't be so scary) so grandpa made an adder catcher from a stick:

Although a little bit later on the walk I snapped it in half (he didn't see the funny side of that either for some reason?)

Nice view of the forest for you:

Mum an dad were struggling on the 9th find when suddenly grandpa shouted a little down the hill "what's this then?". And he had solo found his very first cache:

I am soooooo proud of grandpa!

Anyway we all had a lovely time and found 9 of the 10 caches but now i need to snooze in the garden:
